Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Aircraft Dispatcher to manage flight planning and operational control from Kimberley. The role emphasizes safe, regulatory-compliant flight operations, involving flight plan preparation, weather monitoring, fuel calculations, and coordination with flight crews and air traffic control.

The ideal candidate will have an Aircraft Dispatcher License, experience in flight operations, and strong meteorology and navigation knowledge.

Qualifications

• Valid Aircraft Dispatcher License or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience as an Aircraft Dispatcher or Flight Operations Officer.
• Strong knowledge of aviation meteorology, air navigation, and aircraft performance.
• Proficiency with flight planning software and systems.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work shifts and remain calm and effective under pressure in Kimberley.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file flight plans, considering weather, air traffic, aircraft performance, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and operational status throughout the flight.
• Calculate fuel loads and ensure they meet flight plan requirements and safety margins.
• Communicate effectively with flight crews, air traffic control, and other operational personnel.
• Issue operational advisories and manage flight deviations or diversions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate flight logs and operational records.
