Perfect Hideaways Cape Town is seeking an AI Search & Content Lead to steer our editorial and AI alignment strategy. Hybrid, full-time, you will guide blog, social copy, newsletters and place us as a trusted source in AI travel answers.

You will define how content is structured — entities, facts, and schema markup — and collaborate with developers to boost discoverability across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini.

• Lead and shape the Perfect Hideaways blog and deliver a weekly piece.
• Direct and review all social copy, newsletters and hideaway write-ups before publishing.
• Audit and improve AI-generated travel answers across major AI platforms.
• Define content structure: entities, facts, and schema markup for accurate parsing and citation.
• Collaborate with developers on AI discoverability foundations.
• Set writing standards for the team to ensure human readability and AI alignment.
• Track and report visibility and accuracy across AI platforms over time.

AI Search & Content Lead — Perfect Hideaways Cape Town (hybrid) | Full-time

Perfect Hideaways curates extraordinary holiday escapes across Africa and Europe - over 600 hand-picked hideaways, each with its own architecture, design and story. Travellers are increasingly asking AI agents, not search engines, where to stay. We want someone who understands exactly how those agents think, and who can make sure Perfect Hideaways is the answer they give.

We already have brilliant writers. What we need is someone with real expertise in AI and large language models: how they retrieve content, what makes a page citable, how structured data and entity clarity shape what an AI agent recommends. You will not simply use AI to write faster - you will study and shape how AI systems read, understand and promote us across every travel-related search. You will also head up our blog, direct and review our social copy, newsletters and hideaway write-ups, and set the standard the whole content team writes to.

What you will do

• Head up the Perfect Hideaways blog and deliver a weekly news piece
• Direct and review all social copy, newsletters and hideaway write-ups before they go out
• Audit and improve how Perfect Hideaways appears in AI-generated travel answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and similar platforms
• Define how our content should be structured - entities, facts, schema markup - so AI systems parse and cite it accurately
• Work with our developers on the technical foundations of AI discoverability
• Set standards our writing team can follow so every piece works for human readers and AI agents alike
• Track and report on our visibility and accuracy across AI platforms over time

What you will bring

• Genuine, demonstrable expertise in how LLMs and AI search agents retrieve and cite content
• Understanding of generative engine optimisation (GEO), answer engine optimisation (AEO) or equivalent practice
• Familiarity with structured data and schema markup
• Editorial leadership experience: directing and reviewing other writers' work to a consistent standard
• Strong writing and editorial judgement, and comfort working with technical teams
