Job summary

Ovations Talent Sourcing is seeking an AI Developer to join a multidisciplinary AI delivery team in Johannesburg. The role is hybrid (3 days in the office) on a 12-month contract and focuses on building secure, scalable AI solutions using Microsoft technologies.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and integrating AI agents with enterprise systems, APIs, and data sources within an Agile environment, while following security requirements and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, and Azure OpenAI.
• Good understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Practical experience building, configuring, and deploying AI agents.
• Experience with API integrations, authentication, and security principles.
• Experience testing, debugging, and supporting AI solutions in enterprise environments.

Are you a hands-on AI Developer passionate about building innovative AI-powered solutions using Microsoft technologies?

We are looking for an AI Developer to join a multidisciplinary AI delivery team, responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure, scalable, and production-ready AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have practical experience with Microsoft AI technologies and the ability to turn business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI agents and AI-powered solutions.
• Build solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, and Azure OpenAI.
• Configure prompts, workflows, orchestration logic, connectors, and integrations.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, and data sources.
• Support proof of concepts (PoCs), pilots, production deployments, and releases.
• Troubleshoot defects, perform testing, and optimise solution performance.
• Develop reusable components, accelerators, and technical documentation.
• Follow engineering standards, security requirements, and architectural principles.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, product owners, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of AI development practices.

Essential Requirements

• 2–5 years of software development experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Services, and Azure OpenAI.
• Good understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Practical experience building, configuring, and deploying AI agents.
• Experience with API integrations, authentication, and security principles.

• Proven experience delivering technology solutions within an enterprise environment.
• A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
