Job summary

ATS Client in Pretoria is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead end-to-end banking IT projects across African markets, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and technology standards while maintaining high governance discipline.

You will engage stakeholders across business, IT, vendors, and regulators; drive delivery across core banking, digital channels, payments and integrations; manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies and reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant IT / Business qualification.
• 5+ years' experience as an IT Project Manager in banking.
• Proven experience across African banking markets.
• Strong understanding of banking systems (core banking, payments, channels, integrations).
• Experience working with regulatory and compliance-driven environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologies.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead full project lifecycle (initiation to closure) for banking IT initiatives.
• Deliver projects across core banking, digital banking, payments, and integration platforms.
• Engage with stakeholders across business, IT, vendors, and regulators.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations across African jurisdictions.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
• Coordinate cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Oversee vendor and third-party delivery performance.
• Provide clear reporting, governance, and project documentation.
