Job summary

Helderberg Personnel Cc is seeking an experienced technical support engineer in Stellenbosch. You will be the first contact for post-sales technical queries across our product range, classify and resolve issues, and escalate only when design input is needed.

Qualifications

• BEng, BSc Eng, BTech or National Diploma in Electronic, Electrical, Computer or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
• At least 2 years' experience in a customer-facing technical role such as technical support or field service
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English for an international audience
• Strong organisational skills and methodical record keeping and issue tracking
• Willingness to work across time zones and travel internationally
• Passport and willingness to travel internationally occasionally

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of post-sales technical support for our customer base
• Screen, classify and prioritise incoming support requests and resolve most issues independently
• Escalate complex issues to engineering while retaining ownership of the ticket
• Develop a customer support forum and knowledge base with an integrated ticketing system
• Onboard new customers and tailor training to their experience level
• Maintain customer hardware records and configurations for context in support
• Publish user-facing docs, troubleshooting guides and release notes
• Report on support performance and drive continuous improvement
