Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants seeks an experienced AIT Technician in Stellenbosch to assemble, integrate and test RF and digital communication units, performing precision PCB, cable and harness assembly.

You will conduct functional, environmental and RF performance testing, troubleshoot production issues and support vibration and thermal tests, while aiding test jig development and process improvements.

Qualifications

• B-Tech Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an AIT Technician or in a similar RF/communication systems role.
• Experience in an electronic engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong electronic production and precision assembly skills.
• Experience with digital electronics and RF testing equipment.
• Strong fault-finding skills across analogue, digital and RF circuits.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of materials and work instructions.
• Space, defence, aerospace or high-reliability electronics experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of quality systems, ESD practices and environmental testing advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate with technical teams.
• Willing to occasionally work extended hours during testing.
• South African citizenship or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate and test RF and digital communication units.
• Perform precision PCB, cable, harness and mechanical assembly.
• Conduct functional, environmental and RF performance testing.
• Troubleshoot production failures and perform component-level fault finding.
• Support vibration, thermal cycling and thermal vacuum testing.
• Assist with test jig development and manufacturing improvements.
• Maintain accurate build records and test data.
• Support improvements to production processes, quality and efficiency.
