Job summary

Placements24 seeks an Aerospace Quality Assurance Manager in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape to lead QMS development and sustainment, conduct audits, and drive CAPA across the organization. The role requires deep aerospace quality knowledge and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setup.

The successful candidate will oversee supplier quality, product inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 while mentoring the QA team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related)
• 7+ years in quality assurance, with ≥3 years in management in aerospace
• Knowledge of aerospace standards AS9100 and ISO 9001
• Experience developing and implementing a QMS, audits, and CAPA processes
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and inspection techniques in aerospace
• Leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to drive cross‑functional teams

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with aerospace standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
• Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance and drive improvements.
• Oversee product inspection, testing, and validation against specifications.
• Investigate non-conformities and implement CAPA with effectiveness tracking.
• Manage supplier quality programs including supplier audits and evaluations.
• Lead and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of quality excellence.
• Prepare quality reports for senior management with KPIs and risk areas.
• Ensure quality documentation is accurate, up-to-date and regulatory compliant.
