Our client, a highly reputable wellness retreat situated in the scenic coastal region of Durban , is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Therapeutic Massage Therapist to join their holistic health team. This role is perfect for a professional who is passionate about using therapeutic touch to promote healing, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. You will be responsible for providing a diverse range of advanced massage techniques tailored to individual client needs, from deep tissue and sports massage to lymphatic drainage and prenatal therapy. Beyond massage, there's an opportunity to integrate wellness coaching, guiding clients on lifestyle adjustments to support their health goals. Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of advanced therapeutic massage techniques, including but not limited to deep tissue, sports massage, Swedish, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and lymphatic drainage.
• Conduct detailed client assessments to understand their specific needs, medical history, and treatment goals.
• Develop and implement personalized massage treatment plans to address muscle pain, tension, injury rehabilitation, and stress reduction.
• Provide guidance and education to clients on stretching, posture, and exercises to support their recovery and overall wellness.
• Incorporate elements of wellness coaching, assisting clients in setting and achieving health-related goals (e.g., stress management, improved sleep).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and tranquil treatment space, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Manage client appointments and maintain accurate, confidential client records using the clinic's system.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in massage therapy and wellness practices through ongoing education.
• Build strong rapport with clients, ensuring a comfortable and positive therapeutic experience.
• Collaborate with other wellness practitioners at the retreat to offer integrated client care.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in Massage Therapy and a valid professional license or certification to practice in South Africa .
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a massage therapist, with demonstrable experience in advanced therapeutic modalities.
• Proficiency in a wide range of massage techniques, with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
• Experience or certification in wellness coaching is highly desirable.
• Excellent palpation skills and the ability to accurately assess physical conditions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with diverse clients.
• A calm, professional demeanor and a commitment to maintaining a serene environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required by client demand.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software and maintaining client notes.
