Job summary

Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (SA) Ltd is seeking a commercially minded actuary to lead actuarial and strategic financial coordination across the Life & Savings Cluster CFO reporting, planning, forecasting and governance cycles.

The role requires coordinating with BU CFOs, Finance Business Partners and Group teams to deliver concise executive commentary and drive governance under IFRS 17, EV/RoGEV and value-based metrics.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary with 8–10 years’ actuarial experience across financial reporting and planning.
• Strong understanding of IFRS 17, EV/RoGEV, and value metrics.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executive reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial and financial coordination across reporting, planning, forecasting and governance cycles.
• Translate results into concise analysis and executive commentary for CFO and ExCo decisions.
• Coordinate inputs between Group, L&S Cluster, and BUs to reduce duplication and rework.
• Drive AFF governance forums and ensure effective Actuarial Control Cycle.
• Provide specialist input on IFRS 17, EV, capital and business performance.
