Placements24 is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join its Centurion team, responsible for pricing life insurance products and performing valuations. The role offers opportunities to influence financial projections, pricing strategies, and regulatory reporting in a dynamic life insurance environment.

You will collaborate with product development, finance, and risk management while advancing actuarial qualifications and technical skills in a modern office setting.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Progress towards Fellowship of the Actuarial Society of South Africa or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of actuarial analysis experience, preferably in life insurance.
• Strong proficiency in actuarial software, statistical modeling tools, and programming languages (R, Python, SQL).
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
• Willing to work full-time in Centurion, Gauteng office.

Aufgaben

• Develop, implement, and maintain actuarial models for pricing life insurance products, including mortality, morbidity, and lapse assumptions.
• Perform financial projections and valuations, assessing the solvency and profitability of the life insurance portfolio.
• Analyze trends in mortality, morbidity, and other relevant data to refine actuarial assumptions.
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Conduct experience studies to monitor the accuracy of assumptions and recommend updates.
• Support the product development team by providing actuarial insights and pricing support for new life insurance offerings.
• Collaborate with the risk management team to assess and quantify financial risks associated with life insurance business.
• Communicate complex actuarial findings and recommendations clearly to management and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in actuarial science, insurance regulations, and industry best practices.
