JVR Software in South Africa seeks a Bookkeeper to manage bank reconciliations, debtors, and journal entries using Sage Evolution. The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and solid accounting fundamentals.

A Grade 12 is required, with a desirable tertiary qualification or ongoing bookkeeping/finance studies. Experience of 1–3 years in a similar role is preferred, along with good communication and customer service abilities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is required.
• Desirable tertiary qualification or studying towards bookkeeping/finance.
• 1–3 years’ work experience in a similar role.
• Accounting system experience is advantageous.
• Sage 200 Evolution familiarity.
• Basic to intermediate MS Excel and MS Office skills.
• Meat Matrix experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and credit practices.

Responsabilités

• Bank Reconciliation: capture/import bank transactions in Sage Evolution and reconcile to bank statements.
• Debtors: allocate receipts, follow up on unallocated invoices, and send statements.
• Maintain customer details in Sage and inform about overdue accounts.
• Process credit notes and tax invoices not related to inventory; manage rebates/discounts.
• Review and maintain Accounts Receivable age analysis weekly/monthly.
• Prepare general journals including rounding and reclassifications.
• Manage customer credit limits and approval workflows.
• Handle pay-in-advance cash receipts and related confirmations.
• Reconcile services/loan/intercompany accounts and assist with reporting.
