Job summary

JVR Software in Pretoria East is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join the finance team. The role spans bookkeeping up to trial balance, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly management accounts, with close collaboration to senior finance staff.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, strong numerical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. A Matric and a BCom degree or bookkeeping certificate are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience preparing trial balances and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Exposure to management accounts advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform bookkeeping duties up to trial balance
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Process and reconcile cashbooks
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes where required
• Assist with ad hoc finance and administrative duties
