Job summary

Teraco Gauteng, ZA is seeking an Accounts Payable Controller to manage the full creditor function, ensuring invoices are paid accurately and on time. You will oversee supplier queries, approvals, PO validation, and BBBEE compliance within the Ozone system, supporting month-end closure and audit preparations.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented finance professional with strong accounts payable experience.
• Experience managing full creditors function.
• Ability to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

• Administer the creditors process with approvals from the business before processing invoices for payment.
• Monitor the finance payables email and distribute supplier invoices to the relevant units for approval.
• Ensure supplier invoices have a valid PO and obtain correct approvals.
• Capture supplier invoices in the accounting system.
• Reconcile supplier accounts to statements.
• Prepare payment files and load onto the bank.
• Capture cashbooks and update bank allocations.
• Price checking and creating purchase orders in the accounting system.
• Assist in supplier review processes.
• Engage with suppliers to collect updated BBBEE certificates annually.
• Maintain BBBEE information in Ozone.
• Complete all month end processes within agreed timeframes.
• Prepare and process ad hoc month end journals.
• Prepare monthly audit file with balance sheet recons.
• Assist other finance staff with ad hoc queries.
• Respond promptly to and resolve queries as per OLAs.
• Act as a backup for other finance staff.
• Implement best practices, standards and procedures in all accounting functions.
• Preparation of management accounts. Processing and reconciliation of accounts payable. Processing and reconciliation of accounts receivable. Daily interactions with suppliers on account queries.

MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• To successfully administer the creditors process by ensuring the correct approvals are received from the business prior to processing invoices for payment
