About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented 3D Modeler to join their creative team in Soweto . You will be responsible for creating high-quality 3D assets, including characters, environments, and props, that align with the project's artistic vision and technical specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of modeling techniques, topology, UV mapping, and texturing. You will collaborate closely with concept artists, art directors, and technical artists to bring digital worlds to life, ensuring that all assets are optimized for performance and visual fidelity, fostering a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional visual content.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-polygon and low-polygon 3D models for characters, environments, props, and other assets.
• Develop realistic or stylized textures and materials using industry-standard software.
• Perform UV unwrapping and optimize models for efficient rendering and game engine integration.
• Collaborate with art directors and concept artists to interpret and translate 2D designs into 3D assets.
• Ensure all models meet technical requirements for polycount, scale, and performance.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of asset pipelines and workflows.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a 3D Modeler, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse modeling skills and high-quality assets.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, or similar.
• Experience with texturing software like Substance Painter/Designer or Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of hard surface and organic modeling techniques, topology, and UV mapping.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate design ideas clearly.
• Knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and their asset requirements is a plus for this role in Soweto .
