Placements24 is seeking a highly creative and technically skilled 3D Animator & Modeler to join our client’s team in Pretoria. You'll create realistic and stylized 3D assets and animations for architectural visuals and entertainment projects, collaborating with concept artists, designers, and directors to bring virtual worlds to life.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least 4 years in 3D animation or modeling, and proficiency in Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Cinema

You will work closely with concept artists, designers, and directors to bring virtual worlds and characters to life. Based in Pretoria , this position requires a passion for 3D art, a strong understanding of form, movement, and storytelling, and the ability to deliver high-quality assets that meet project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Model, texture, and rig 3D characters, environments, and props according to project requirements.
• Animate 3D characters and objects, focusing on realistic movement, timing, and conveying emotion.
• Create detailed and visually appealing 3D environments and scenes.
• Collaborate with concept artists and art directors to ensure the visual style and quality of 3D assets align with project goals.
• Optimize 3D models and scenes for performance in real-time applications or final rendering.
• Stay current with advancements in 3D modeling, animation software, and rendering techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a 3D Animator or 3D Modeler.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, ZBrush, and Substance Painter.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, form, lighting, and composition.
• Demonstrable portfolio showcasing high-quality 3D models and animations.
• Experience with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity is a plus.
