Placements24 is seeking a Lead 3D Modeler in Mbombela (Nelspruit) for a hybrid role. Lead and mentor a team of modelers to deliver high-fidelity assets across characters, environments, and props, aligning with artistic direction and technical pipelines.

You will set quality standards, collaborate with art directors, and oversee asset integration into game engines like Unity or Unreal, driving optimization and consistency across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in 3D Animation, Fine Arts, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in 3D modeling, with leadership experience.
• Expertise in 3D modeling software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, ZBrush, or similar.
• Strong understanding of texturing, UV mapping, and optimization for real-time rendering.
• Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) and asset pipelines.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
