Job summary

Go Lean Health is seeking a Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) for a remote, 30-hour per week role with an hourly rate of $5 to $6.50. This position supports a busy chiropractic clinic, handling billing, insurance verification, claims processing, and reporting with emphasis on accuracy, initiative, and ownership.

The ideal candidate communicates excellently in English, is Mac OS–savvy, highly detail-oriented, and able to work independently while building trust with the provider and care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as Medical Virtual Assistant (MVA) or similar role.
• Experience supporting a US healthcare practice.
• Experience with insurance verification, EOBs, claims, denied claims, patient balances, or billing support.
• Exposure to CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be a Mac OS user.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance after check-in and document accuracy.
• Review denied claims and assist with reprocessing.
• Process EOB documents and clear backlogs.
• Review outstanding patient balances and coordinate resolution.
• Support claims workflows for Cigna and VA; escalate when needed.
• Assist with vendor payments and ensure timely task completion.
• Monitor SOAP note completion and compliance.
• Track missed and canceled appointments and identify trends.
• Prepare reports on balances, missed/cancelled appointments, EOB backlog and denied claims with insights.
• Coordinate clear communication between provider, care team, and staff.
