Job summary

Lincoln Park Zoo is seeking a certified veterinary technician to provide skilled, collaborative support to the veterinary department. Under supervision by veterinarians, you will assist in medical care of a wide range of species, perform anesthesia tasks, and help maintain records and hospital areas.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program and certification as a veterinary technician in Illinois.
• Experience preferred as a certified veterinary technician in a zoo or veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with anesthesia, drug handling, and monitoring during procedures.
• Perform in-house diagnostic testing and prepare specimens for external laboratories.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and manage hospital equipment and supplies.
