Job summary

The North Carolina Zoo is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Supervisor I to oversee maintenance and repair for a range of vehicles and equipment. You will manage a team of four technicians, prioritize work, and ensure compliance with state and federal safety rules.

You will supervise preventive maintenance, manage parts and tools, and drive staff development while maintaining high safety standards and performance. The posting requires state-level experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of progressive experience in repair of vehicles and/or equipment.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• EPA MVAC certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise four Vehicle/Equipment Repair Technicians in inspections, service, maintenance, and repair.
• Manage work orders and preventive maintenance through the CMMS (Facility Dude/Brightly).
• Assist staff with goal setting, performance evaluations, coaching, and development.
• Ensure work is performed safely in compliance with OSHA and Zoo guidelines.
• Maintain staffing levels and perform inspections and repairs as needed.

Two years vehicle repair experience

CMMS experience

EPA MVAC certification (if applicable)
