Job summary

Abilene Zoo is seeking an entry‑level Guest Services team member to assist visitors, process payments, and provide information about zoo activities. The role supports Guest Service Managers and helps direct guest traffic with a positive, professional attitude.

Responsibilities include answering inquiries, handling reservations, and performing administrative tasks while maintaining safety and accuracy in all cashier duties.

Qualifications

• This is an entry-level position with preference for candidates who have prior customer service experience.
• A high school diploma, GED, or the process of obtaining either is required.
• Train Operation requires staff to be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Food Handlers Permit will be required if preparing food.

Responsibilities

• Greets and directs visitors to the Abilene Zoo and answers general questions.
• Provides administrative support for the Guest Service Managers and Assistant Managers.
• Assists with guest inquiries, directions, and information on zoo functions and activities.
• Processes calls, registers payments, handles reservations and visitation paperwork.
• Maintains equipment and spaces per policies and procedures.
• Assists with guest surveys and other reports.
• May operate City vehicles and/or motorized equipment when needed.
