Job summary

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is seeking a Facilities Operator to maintain the Zoo’s buildings, grounds, and guest areas, and to train custodial staff under the supervision of the Park Operations team. The role supports safety, guest experience, and the Zoo’s mission including DEAI goals.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, six months of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and special events.

Qualifications

• Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive attitude.
• Ability to guide and train custodial staff effectively.
• Experience in building and grounds cleaning and maintenance.
• Must have a valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of custodial staff.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in restrooms and public areas.
• Order and stock janitorial supplies.
• Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
