Job summary

Loudoun County's Department of Planning and Zoning seeks a Planning Technician on the Zoning Enforcement team. This role supports the division with administrative, technical, and coordination tasks essential to efficient zoning enforcement operations.

Key responsibilities include processing zoning complaints, monitoring cases in LEx and LandMARC, supporting onboarding, and maintaining files, with two telework days per week after training. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and four years of related government work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Zoning, Historic Preservation, Business or Public Administration preferred.
• Experience with zoning enforcement and land-use processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Processing and verifying zoning complaints to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitoring cases in LEx and LandMARC as needed.
• Supporting new-hire onboarding activities.
• Maintaining personnel certifications and coordinating staff travel.
• Servicing as vehicle and office automation coordinator, and conducting data entry.
• Maintaining case files and archiving records.
