Qualifications

• Requires High school diploma/GED and 3 years of zoning-related inspections experience.
• Ability to read plans and specifications for enforcement actions.
• Experience interpreting municipal ordinances and state statutes.
• Familiar with permitting and code enforcement software, preferably OpenGov.
• Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive zoning advisory, inspection, and enforcement program.
• Prepare documentation for enforcement in civil court actions and prosecutions.
• Conduct inspections and respond to complaints from the public.
• Provide technical zoning assistance to City Boards and Departments.
• Perform conflict resolution and effective communication with the public.
