Job summary

Fremont Economic Development Corp. seeks a Town Building/Zoning and Code Enforcement Officer to enforce town ordinances and conduct inspections. The role supports planning, budgeting, and meeting preparations, reporting to the Town Clerk and working with the BOT as needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building and zoning inspections, strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret regulations while coordinating with town officials.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Experience in building, zoning, inspections, and code enforcement preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Computer skills with MS Office and Adobe required.

Responsibilities

• Enforce all Town ordinances related to zoning and building, and conduct inspections.
• Recommend ordinances, regulations, and policies to Town Clerk and BOT.
• Assist in developing the 5-year Capital Plan, RFPs, and annual budget.
• Keep Town Clerk advised of fiscal needs for inspection and code operations.
• Support Planning and Zoning meetings and prepare agendas and materials.
• Attend Trustee meetings to report status of town business.
• Respond to and document citizen complaints and recommend actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by BOT.
• Assist the Risk Manager as required.
