Job summary

Stockbridge is seeking experienced Code Enforcement Officers to monitor and enforce city ordinances related to zoning, nuisance housing, building codes, health, safety, blight, graffiti, and related issues.

Positions involve field investigations, documentation, and appearance in court as needed. Applicants should have a high school diploma or associate degree with relevant training and at least two years of public-facing enforcement experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to enforce codes, ordinances, and regulations with impartiality and efficiency.
• Public-facing role with high level of contact and customer service.
• Ability to inspect and identify code violations and interpret relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations and inspect properties for violations.
• Issue notices, warnings, and citations; pursue compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Maintain case files with documentation of investigations and enforcement actions.
• Patrol assigned areas to identify ordinance violations and determine resolution methods.
• Prepare evidence for legal actions and appear in court as required.
• Respond to citizen complaints and coordinate with other agencies on violations.
