Zone Mechanic I (Plumbing)

Position Summary: Assist in facilities maintenance, construction, and general upkeep. Troubleshoot non‑complex facilities problems, provide preventive and corrective solutions. First responder to trouble calls and emergent needs. Maintain documentation, records, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to general building facilities, including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical components.
• Perform minor repairs to floors, ceilings, walls; paint and patchwork.
• Conduct regular inspections of designated facilities and equipment and report unusual problems.
• Advise management of general condition of facilities and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
• Maintain documentation and maintenance records; document actions and timekeeping in writing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience completing basic repairs, understanding of various trades, basic understanding of facilities components, ability to handle high‑stress situations, critical thinking, competent communication.

Physical Demands

• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Stand, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, work with hands above head.
• Work in extreme conditions (hot or cold), trenches, confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms.
• Use standard and extended ladder.
