Job summary

Hydro in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Zone Leader to coordinate with other work cells and departments to meet production requirements, with accountability for costs, methods, quality and safety. This role reports to the Fabrication Manager and drives continuous improvement on the production floor.

You will oversee scheduling, assignments and performance evaluations, reinforce safe work practices, and mentor staff to learn all positions within the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists with scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff within the department.
• Assists with conducting constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• May participate in accident/incident reviews and develop corrective actions.
• Facilitates the work team in problem solving, continuous improvement, and training.
• Ensures a safe working environment on the production floor.
• Must be willing to learn all positions within the team and production cell.

Job Summary:

The Zone Leader coordinates with other work cells and departments to meet production requirements of the company and needs of the customers, with accountability for results in terms of costs, methods, quality, quality of production, operations, and personnel. This position will report to the Fabrication Manager.

What you will be doing

• Assists with scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff within the department.
• Assists with conducting constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• May be asked to participate in accident/incident reviews and develop corrective actions.
• Serves as a facilitator to the work team in areas of problem solving, issue resolution, continuous improvement, and training.
• Ensures a safe working environment is maintained on the production floor.
• Must be willing to learn all positions within the team and production cell.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year of machine operator experience within a production cell or similar manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to follow jobs through to completion.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
