Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA is seeking a Zone Superintendent to supervise the facilities stewardship program across a defined zone. You will lead a team of skilled trades, plan, schedule, and direct work while aligning with university policies.

The role focuses on preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, and cost control, and involves performance management, reporting via CMMS AiM, and coordination with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Supervises and directs a multi-craft trades team in a facilities environment.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and construction methods.
• Ability to set priorities and manage budgets.
• Experience with CMMS (AiM) and reporting.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Commitment to safety and OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and schedule zone maintenance and repairs.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Produce workload/backlog reports using CMMS.
• Coordinate procurement and vendor management.
• Ensure high-quality service and energy/resource efficiency.
• Manage performance using university policies and guidelines.
