Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia’s Facilities Management is seeking a Zone Maintenance Supervisor to lead a diverse trades team responsible for maintaining 1.8 million square feet across North Grounds. This role focuses on safe, reliable building operations and hands-on supervision to deliver quality service to UVA facilities and stakeholders.

You will coach staff, coordinate preventative maintenance, manage work orders, and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable codes

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Four years of experience in building maintenance or related trades.
Journeyman or Master license in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is required.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and direct maintenance operations for a diverse team of trades workers to provide excellent customer service.
Support HR functions including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and corrective actions.
Plan, coordinate, and execute customer project requests using in-house staff and contractors.
