Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager to lead the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and supervise safety professionals as needed. The role emphasizes interaction with staff at all levels, proactive leadership, and maintaining confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's in safety or related field, at least six years of construction safety experience, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent is required.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience and leadership of safety programs.
• CHST, OSHA 500, CSP are preferred qualifications.
• Must be able to travel up to 100% across sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight, leadership, and direction in the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites.
• Lead project teams in developing site-specific electrical safety programs and activities.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training programs.
• Review safety submittals and attend pre-construction and preparatory meetings with subcontractors.
• Provide direction and mentorship to Safety staff and Coordinators.
• Oversee documentation, tracking, and analysis of injury, hazard statistics, and OSHA reports.
• Conduct work area safety audits.
• Monitor subcontractor activities for safety concerns.
