Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead safety initiatives across multiple project sites within the Zero Injury program. You will mentor safety professionals and coordinate training, audits, and incident analyses while ensuring compliance with OSHA and Mortenson policies.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and travel up to 100%. A CSP is preferred, with a bachelor’s degree in safety or equivalent and several years in construction safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and 10 years of construction leadership experience.
• CSP certification preferred.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to use MS Office and safety-related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership across multiple project sites within the Zero Injury program.
• Lead project teams in site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Coordinate safety trainings including train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals and participate in preconstruction meetings with subcontractors.
• Mentor Safety staff and coordinators; support incident analyses and OSHA reporting.
• Conduct safety audits and monitor subcontractor safety activities.
