Guidehouse is seeking a Staff Scientist in Bethesda, MD, on-site, to support NHLBI objectives. You will breed and maintain fish colonies, culture primary cells, perform staining and cloning, generate mutant alleles, and train team members to perform assays.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Biology or Life Sciences with 4+ years of experience, or a Master's with 6+ years. Candidates must be able to obtain a public trust; salary ranges from $98,000 to $163,000 with competitive benefits.

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in Biology/Life Sciences with 4+ years in related field or Master's with 6+ years experience in lieu of PhD.
• Experience with FISH and microscopy techniques is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD public trust.

Responsabilidades

• Breed and cross fish colonies.
• Culture primary cells from fish germline or soma.
• Perform fixation and immunostaining of cells/tissues.
• Do cloning to tag genes with various tags.
• Generate mutant gene alleles for structure-function studies.
• Record, interpret, and discuss experimental results.
• Train others to perform biological and biochemical assays.
• Create and maintain zebrafish transgenic animals.
