Job summary

Creighton University is seeking a dependable, motivated part-time Research Laboratory Technician I to manage daily operations of the Zebrafish Core Facility in the Coffin Lab. The role supports routine lab testing, animal care, and facility maintenance under supervision, with comprehensive training provided as the hire gains independence.

Applicants should have an Associate degree or 2 years of higher education and at least 1 year of lab experience, along with strong documentation and data

Qualifications

• Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, documentation, maintaining laboratory notebooks, analyzing data, and reporting using complex statistical computer software.
• Associate degree or 2 years of higher education.
• 1 year of laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Routine animal care, including feeding schedules, system/alarm checks, basic health assessments, and water-quality monitoring.
• Day-to-day facility operations, routine system maintenance, communication with Animal Resource Facility and veterinary staff, supply ordering and inventory management.
• Assisting with troubleshooting and caring for equipment; helping new users become familiar with facility procedures.
