Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Z Shift Die Setter in Pontiac, MI, operating on a 5pm–5am schedule from Friday through Sunday. You will set up dies on progressive, secondary, and transfer presses to ensure parts meet JES and quality standards.

We value a high school diploma or GED, ability to read/write English, and 1–3 months related experience; stamping/die setting experience, LOTO, and press operation know-how are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English to safely perform duties.
• Metal stamping experience preferred.
• Die setting in stamping preferred.
• Lockout/Tagout experience preferred.
• Press operating experience preferred.
• Has basic math and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and changes dies on 200 Ton to 2500 Ton presses according to JES and die set up sheets.
• Loads dies/tools with metal blanks and threads metal strip from coils as required.
• Installs die protection devices and performs housekeeping in work area.
• Performs problem solving analysis, corrective actions, and documents non-conformities.
• Participates in ongoing safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Works up to 12 hours per day including weekends as needed.
