Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a YTV Operator for high-travel field work across eastern and western US. You will operate the Yard Testing Vehicle, conduct manual defect testing, and support portable inspection operations while ensuring equipment readiness.

The role requires extensive travel, DOT compliance, and a strong safety mindset. Training pays $20.00 per hour, then a $60,000 annual base salary, with travel and lodging expenses covered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Yard Testing Vehicle (YTV) testing system.
• Perform manual testing of potential defect locations.
• Operate the B-Scan portable walking stick system as needed.
• Drive truck and trailer to multiple testing locations daily (DOT Medical Card required).
• Complete daily pre-trip inspections and maintain logs.
• Submit reports and communicate with field management and customers.
• Maintain safety and comply with DOT regulations.
