Job summary

Sperry Rail, Inc. is seeking a YTV Operator to operate the Yard Testing Vehicle and perform manual rail defect testing across eastern or western US, including extended field travel.

The role requires operating B-Scan systems, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with Sperry field management and customers. Training is provided, with extensive travel and safety compliance emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT Medical Card.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Yard Testing Vehicle (YTV) testing system.
• Perform manual testing of potential defect locations.
• Operate the B-Scan portable walking stick system as needed.
• Drive truck and trailer to multiple testing locations daily; DOT Medical Card required.
• Maintain and submit DOT logs and daily test reports.
