Job summary

The State of Missouri's Division of Youth Services seeks a Youth Services Specialist to coordinate treatment for youths in day treatment and residential programs. You will build therapeutic rapport, develop and review individualized treatment plans, and coordinate services with families and providers while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• One or more years of professional experience in juvenile treatment or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 credit hours in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related field; plus one+ years of juvenile treatment experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of youth treatment experience and/or relevant certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop a working relationship and therapeutic rapport with each youth and family.
• Update each family on youth progress and discuss family needs.
• Develop and review an integrated, comprehensive treatment plan for each youth; provide updates.
• Evaluate youth responsiveness to treatment plans.
• Visit youth and families in their homes.
• Prepare alternative educational and vocational plans.
• Ensure victim rights and sex offender notifications and restitution obligations.
• Attend and assist in planning treatment assessments and transitional meetings.
• Represent the agency at staffing, hearings and meetings with service providers.
• Provide direct services including counseling, crisis intervention, and Awareness Supervision for youth.
• Maintain security and intervene in emergencies, including restraints if needed.
• Provide CPR and other first-aid as necessary.
• Recruit and coordinate foster placements and other community resources.
• Provide shift coverage in 24/7 residential programs as needed.
• Transport and escort youth and families in various situations.
