Job summary

The State of Missouri Division of Youth Services is seeking a Youth Services Worker to help create a safe, therapeutic environment for youth in day treatment and residential programs. You will support treatment activities, supervise youth, and ensure safety and security with professional, empathetic conduct.

Responsibilities include administering group activities, maintaining records, transporting youth, and participating in crisis intervention when needed. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Empathy, nonjudgmental and respectful interaction with youth.
• Clear, honest, open communication with youth and staff.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team-based setting.
• Willingness to transport youth when required; valid driver’s license.
• Ability to implement and monitor treatment plans and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide Awareness Supervision to youth and manage their conduct and care.
• Monitor youth activity and movement in residential/day treatment settings.
• Maintain security and participate in restraints during emergencies as needed.
• Supervise youth during activities and inspect for health and safety hazards.
• Assist youth with personal issues and refer to group sessions as appropriate.
• Prepare reports on client adjustment and progress and maintain records.
• Dispense medications and respond to medical emergencies including CPR.
• Transport and escort youth in routine and emergency contexts.
• Attend shifts and mandatory meetings; record hours accurately.
• Contribute to educational program activities as needed.
