Job summary

The State of Missouri’s Youth Services Division seeks staff for day treatment and residential programs, focusing on safe, therapeutic youth care. You will supervise, guide, and support youths while delivering treatment activities and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of youth development and treatment principles.
• Ability to work with youth and their families.
• Willingness to perform in a residential/day treatment setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide Awareness Supervision to youth, with responsibility for their personal conduct, care, and therapy.
• Monitor youth activity, behavior, and movement in residential/day treatment settings.
• Maintain security, including intervention and/or participate fully in physical restraints of youth during emergencies.
• Supervise youth during activities and inspect health and safety hazards.
• Assist youth with personal issues and refer issues to the group per program principles.
• Implement group and individual treatment plans.
• Maintain professional boundaries and interact respectfully with youth, families, staff, and the public.
• Prepare reports regarding client adjustment and progress; maintain youth records.
• Dispense medications to youth; intervene in medical emergencies (CPR).
• Transport and escort youth in everyday and emergency situations.
• Work on shifts and attend mandatory meetings; log hours and submit timesheets.
• Assist in the educational program.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
