Job summary

State of Missouri, Division of Youth Services, is seeking Youth Services Workers to supervise and facilitate treatment activities for youth in day treatment and residential settings. The role emphasizes empathy, clear communication, and collaboration with staff and families to ensure safe, therapeutic programming.

Responsibilities include supervising youth, monitoring behavior, delivering treatment, and maintaining records, with potential shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Awareness Supervision and youth safety/therapy responsibilities
• Knowledge of child development and youth treatment approaches
• Credit-hours or experience as required for candidacy
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Ability to communicate clearly, honestly and openly

Responsibilities

• Provide Awareness Supervision to youth and manage conduct, care and therapy
• Monitor youth activity and movements in residential/day treatment settings
• Maintain security and assist with physical restraints during emergencies
• Supervise youth during activities and inspect for health and safety hazards
• Assist youth with personal issues and refer to group sessions
• Implement group and individual treatment plans
• Maintain professional boundaries and positive interactions with youth and staff
• Prepare progress reports and maintain youth records
• Dispense medications to youth and respond to medical emergencies
• Transport and escort youth as needed
• Work varying shifts including evenings/nights and respond to emergencies
• Assist in educational programs
• Performs other tasks as assigned
