Job summary

LifeWorks in Austin, TX is seeking a Client Transportation Specialist to join our Emergency Shelter team. This part-time, non-exempt role provides safe, reliable transportation for shelter clients, coordinating trips to school, appointments, employment activities and medical care. Expect AM/PM shifts with a cap of 15 hours per week.

Position pays $22.00–$25.07/hr, dependent on experience, and requires a valid Texas driver’s license and insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and navigate locations.
• Effective communication with clients, coworkers, schools and partners.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates transportation for clients to school, appointments, job interviews and other activities.
• Provides safe, timely transportation using personal and agency vehicles; follows safety procedures.
• Communicates with shelter staff about schedules, delays, and client needs.
• Maintains professional boundaries and client-centered support while transporting youth and young adults.
• Completes transportation documents, logs, mileage records and incident reports.
• Performs basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and reports issues.
• Follows traffic laws, agency policies, confidentiality, and safety expectations.
