Job summary

LifeWorks in Austin, TX seeks a dedicated Youth Care Worker for its Emergency Shelter. You will provide care, supervision, and support to youths aged 13–19 in a 24-hour residential setting, ensuring safety and engagement while coordinating activities and transportation.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Requires 1+ year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervises clients and the facility by overseeing their care and safety.
• Ensure client safety and engagement services and assist with day-to-day needs (case management, school activities, transportation, meals, medications).
• Coordinate transportation for clients to outings, appointments, interviews, or emergencies.
• Document and observe client behavior and incidents with confidentiality per laws.
• Follow DFPS standards, safety planning, and complete intake/discharge of client services.
• Maintain daily records and support training and supervision as required.
