Job summary

Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency seeks a Youth Specialist to coordinate the Youth Action Board and HUD-funded YHSI regional planning efforts across three Continuums of Care. You will manage meeting logistics, assist in committees, and support youth-led initiatives with a focus on equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities include developing project plans, monitoring progress, preparing progress reports for funders, and organizing trainings and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum four years of experience in a related field.
• Knowledge of Wayne County demographics, homelessness needs and available services.
• Ability to collect and evaluate data on service needs and gaps; develop means to address gaps.
• HMIS experience preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational, collaborative, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate meetings, committees, and trainings for YAB and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Support planning of annual regional conferences.
• Prepare progress reports for funders and stakeholders.
• Ensure activities are youth-led, culturally competent, and inclusive.
• Represent Wayne Metro at external meetings and events.
