Job summary

Missouri Department of Social Services Division of Youth Services is seeking a part-time Social Services Aide/Community Mentor to help create a therapeutic and safe environment for youth in day treatment and residential programs. A valid driver's license is required, and candidates should be empathetic, nonjudgmental, cooperative, encouraging, professional, and respectful.

The current pay is $16.84 per hour, with potential higher rates based on pay differentials.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is the only requirement for SSA.
• Prior experience with juveniles or coursework in social science/criminal justice is desired.

Responsibilities

• Transport youth (and possibly family) to school, job, doctor appointments, meetings, etc. in a state vehicle.
• Spend time with youth in developing constructive relationships and providing structure and guidance.
• Provide tutoring or academic assistance with schoolwork or homework.
• Assist client in securing employment and developing community resources.
