Job summary

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services seeks Youth Support Assistants to help maintain secure facilities and supervise youth under state programs. You will perform security checks, surveillance, and movement monitoring to ensure safety and program compliance across sites statewide.

Candidates must have one year of youth-care experience or a high school diploma, plus mandatory Basic Academy and restraint training, and a valid NYS driver’s license for ongoing operational

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience caring for youth aged 6-21.
• Direct-care experience with youth in juvenile justice or related settings.
• Completion of Basic Academy Training two-week course and ongoing restraint training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility security.
• Key control.
• Perimeter inspections.
• Vehicle and visitor checks for contraband.
• Camera surveillance of facility.
• Monitor movement throughout the facility.
• Attend restraint training twice yearly.
• Additional duties discussed in interview.
