Job summary

The NYS Office of Children and Family Services is looking for dedicated individuals to maintain facility security and support youth under 21 years of age.

Applicants should have direct-care experience with youth, including care, programming, and secure custody in relevant settings. Ongoing training in approved restraint techniques will be mandatory, as well as completion of a two-week Basic Academy Training course.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience in the care and programming of youth under 21 years of age.
• Experience in a health care, mental hygiene, or correctional institutional setting.
• Completion of Basic Academy Training’s two-week training course.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility security.
• Conduct perimeter inspections.
• Monitor movement throughout the facility.

Skills

Direct-care experience with youth

Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State

Satisfactory communication skills

Education

High school or equivalency diploma
