The NYS Office of Children and Family Services is hiring a Youth Support Assistant to help maintain security and oversee youth in secured settings across facilities. The role requires attention to safety procedures, perimeter checks, and monitoring movement within the building, with training in OCFS restraint techniques.

Qualified applicants will have at least one year of full-time experience caring for youth ages 6-21, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid NYS driver's license.

Qualifikationen

• One year of full-time experience in the care and programming of youth ages 6-21.
• High school or equivalency diploma required.
• Direct-care experience with youth in juvenile justice system or related settings.
• Completion of Basic Academy Training’s two-week course and a valid NYS driver’s license.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle in New York State and participate in ongoing restraint training.

• Maintain facility security.
• Key control and perimeter inspections.
• Vehicle and visitor checks for contraband.
• Camera surveillance of facility and monitor movement.
• Attend restraint techniques training twice yearly.
