Job summary

NYS Office of Children and Family Services seeks a Youth Support Assistant to maintain facility security, monitor movement, and perform surveillance duties in various program settings across New York. Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience in the care and programming of youth ages 6-21.
• Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma.
• Direct-care experience with youth involved in the juvenile justice system or in an institution, camp, school, community center, youth rehabilitation program, mental health or correctional institution or residential center.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility security.
• Key control.
• Perimeter inspections.
• Vehicle and visitor checks for contraband.
• Camera surveillance of facility.
• Monitor movement throughout the facility.
• Attend training in approved OCFS restraint techniques two times a year (four hours each).
