NYS Office of Children and Family Services is seeking Youth Support Specialists to supervise court-placed youth (ages 12-20) in OCFS secure, limited-secure, and non-secure residential facilities. You will work as part of a team to maintain safety, security, and a therapeutic environment across all OCFS facilities statewide.

The role requires strong relationship-building across diverse backgrounds, incident-safe intervention skills, and commitment to youth education and transition goals.

Qualifications

• Two years full-time direct care experience in youth care or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination allowed by minimum qualifications.
• Direct care experience with youth in juvenile justice, institutions, or residential settings.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and monitor court-placed youth aged 12–20.
• Participate in a youth’s support team for treatment-focused goals.
• Engage safely with youth under stress and intervening as needed.
• Apply graduated harm reduction strategies and mentorship.
• Collaborate to improve facility well-being and engage in activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with families and loved ones.
• Assist youth in achieving education, work readiness, and transition goals.
