Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies is seeking a Youth Support Counselor in Santa Rosa, CA to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive mental health services in community settings. The role requires family-centered care, case management, crisis intervention, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Salary starts at the posted range with annual increases and bilingual proficiency incentives. The position is full-time, with a hybrid in-person/at-home schedule and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with applicable experience working with youth or families.
• At least 21 years of age.
• TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any licensing/certification requirements.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca’s policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and case management services for enrolled youth and their families.
• Support client and family to connect to natural supports and community-based resources.
• Provide crisis intervention and other mental health services at client homes, schools, and community locations.
• Participate in treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and IEP meetings when necessary.
• Complete mental health notes and service tracking documentation.
• Assist with planning arrangements and transportation for school, therapy, and court hearings.
• Attend team meetings, weekly trainings, supervision, and adhere to clinical best practices.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule.
• Participate in providing emergency on-call response as scheduled.

Job description

Youth Support Counselor provides family-centered mental health counseling, support, crisis intervention, and case management services for youth and their families. Youth Support Counselors are members of a multi-disciplinary team and provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive services in the community at times and locations convenient to the family.

About Sonoma Wraparound

The focus of Seneca Wraparound programs is to offer family-centered, individualized, culturally relevant, and strength-based support to families with complex and enduring needs. Wraparound works in close partnership with Department of Social Services, Juvenile Probation, Behavioral Health, and group homes. Wraparound provides strengths-based and outcome-oriented alternatives to group care placements for children and youth by drawing upon communityand family strengths. Treatment and support services are tailored to address behaviors and meet family needs, even as they change over time.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree OR
  • Associate degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR
  • High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience may be accepted in programs that do not have a written contract requiring a Bachelor’s degree as a minimum education level.
  • Applicable experience can include paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families or working in the social services field.
• At least 21 years of age.

• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy.

Preferred

• Experience working with children/youth and families with complex and enduring needs.
• Experience implementing family-focused services.

• Starting at $24.76 - $27.26 per hour
  • Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
